Business schools worldwide must help build management capacity in health services, according to the United States Agency for International Development. And Strathmore Business School is gearing up to play its part.  Strathmore Business School will offer a new executive education program in Health Care Management.

“The African health care sector is crying out for more modern management training,” said SBS Director George Njenga. “Doctors, nurses, and increasingly, non-clinical managers need to be better prepared  to lead teams to achieve results and lead change so they can realize our country’s health goals.”

SBS will launch its program in October. As preparation, Mr. Njenga recently visited Washington DC, under the auspices of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he presented a paper entitled ‘Strengthening Human Resource Management in Health Care”.

Mr. Njenga, with Strathmore Alumni and Friends Association (STRAFA) leader Ruben Marwanga, also met Hon. Donald Payne, Chairman, Africa and Global Health Subcommittee of the United States Congress, to discuss areas of possible cooperation.
