Reflecting its expanding vision for the future of Strathmore and Kenya, on July 17th SUF convened its newly expanded Board of Directors at a weekend retreat at the Nassau Inn in Princeton, NJ. Attending were the Board’s founding members, Vice Chancellor John Odhiambo and Professor David C. Spering from Kenya and Professor Ignacio Rodriguez and Messrs. Luis Tellez and Tom Pyle from the United States.

The Board was pleased to welcome its new members who represent the breadth and depth of the Strathmore experience. They are:

Mr. Thomas Konditi, an alumnus of Strathmore College and a corporate executive with extensive management experience in the General Electric Corporation.

Mr. Martin Mbaya, an alumnus of Strathmore University’s IMIS program and former Administrative Director of External Programs at Strathmore Business School.

Mrs. Bernadette W. Musundi, a member of Strathmore University’s Council and a former Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Kenya.

Mrs. Elise Rockart, former IBM systems engineer and one of the “pioneer” first teachers at Kianda College, Kenya’s first multiracial college for women now merged with Strathmore University.

Mr. Mark Thaiya, an alumnus of Strathmore College and a corporate systems software consultant.
